I'm trying to free a seized rusted in piston from barrel. It's been soaking with some lubricant for a few days then i've just applied loads of heat with blow torch for over half an hour...i've wacked it hard with a wooden drift and lump hammer but it's not shifted...? I've stopped due to fear of damaging the casing...Maybe when its cooled with more lube an another attempt it may free? What else can i do....? thought about cutting the con rod but can't get in as the spigott is not clear...only other plan is to chisel/dremell the piston out...? any ideas....?

fill a storage box full of diesel and soak it

remove the studs

then using a breaker bar turn the flywheel nut and wack the top of the piston

if you a a complete animal smash the piston to bits with a wood chisel so the rod is free then pull the barrel off

id just keep at it with the blow torch ..get it hot then blast it with wd40 let it cool a bit then repeat a few times ...you dont say how powerful the torch is though ..the little cheap hobby ones wont be much cop unless you know some one with oxy acetylene set

Complete animal route for me, i would muller the crown of the piston as already suggested. Quick and simple....

soak it in diesel, thats the best way to free it, if you have to use brute force as the diesel didnt do the job, with a small drill, drill lots of holes in a circle around the top of the piston, once you have enough holes the piston will break up without damagine the cylinder or the con rod, i saw this tip in a classic bike mag and is the best one iv seen yet

Just had the same problem, with a seized piston on a (friends) previously running engine.
Had to drill the top of the piston and chisel the rest out
And all from a dislodged circlip

Use ignorance; with loads of heat; add a little more ignorance with a dash of couldn't care less cavalier-attitude; then with the biggest hammer you can possibly wield hit it it till you feel good about yourself;
it just might have the desired effect and shift the blighter,
