Strange Noise.

I'm getting a strange noise in neural, motor not running GP200 motor.
When I push the Lammy forward i get a clicking noise.
When I put a little pressure on the gear changer as if to put it into
1st gear the noise stops, let off the pressure and the clicking returns.

Any body got an idea prior to taking it apart?

I was thinking the same however had someone hold the kick start down as I pushed it along.

I'm thinking with the kick starter fully down it should have cleared 1st.
I'm going to take the side case off and have a play if I can't find anything
I'm going to swap out the gear box maybe over the weekend.

I had the same on the Coast 2 Coast, when i raised the rear wheel off ground and span the rear wheel the noise stopped. Turned out that the hub studs had come loose on the rim and was clicking / creaking when i pushed the scoot along. You couldn't tell by eye or by shaking the rear wheel when it was on the groung but when raise there was the slightest of movement, enough to make the rim creak / click.

Try lifting the rear wheel off the ground and see if the noise goes...

Just a thought.

With the kickstart fully down, the kickstart plunger/p[iston will be fully engaged on first gear, ya numpty. Try walking the scooter along with someone holding the kickstart hard up against the stop. If the clicking goes, then it is the kickstart plunger too far out of the kickstart and engaging with first gear.

You don't say exactly where the noise is coming from. You will always get a clicking/clunking when you walk a scooter forward, as it's the gearbox turning over.

I had a similar situation to Frautzi, but the studs were still tight and were being eaten into by movement of the rims on them. The holes were ovalising as well. In my case, the nuts were obviously not done up tight enough...If it hadn't been for the click I wouldn't have known until it was too late..

Had a play again the noise come's from the gearbox and disappears when i take up the slight slack
as if to put it into 1st gear then the noise stops.
This weekend it's going to get a sorting out. LOL

I had a very dumpster noise on my t5 and was sure it was gear related, but my hub stud nuts had come loose and the play on the wheel caused the noise so it is worth checking this.
