Couple of years ago one of the screwheads on a statorplate screw came off and went around the stator a couple of times when it got lodged inbetween two flywheel magnets, wrecking most of the coils and the pick up on it's merry way before grinding to a halt.
The flywheel was a lightened one (2150gr) and made the engine very nice to drive.
After this incident the flywheel was replaced with a standard SIL one because one of the magnets, while still stuck to the flywheel, is loose.
Trying to remove the screw that holds it to the flywheel resulted in nothing more than the screwhead turning but the magnet staying put! Are the magnets on these flywheels glued in as well as being screwed from the outside? If so, can I just tear it off, replace the screw, and bolt it all back together with a new screw? And what glue an dwhich screws does one use? And if all this should, how unlikely it seems, work out, how do I check the tolerance between it and the stator plate...?

They seem to be glued and screwed on. I've had the screws snap in the magnet while trying to remove them before. I'm not sure if glue on its own would be a trustworthy solution. New flywheel time?
