Went over to France on RR3 with the Feckers in July on recently rebuilt and run in engine.
Spec is Indian 150 bored out to 175 with head profiled correctly. Running a OKO 24mm carb with mods done and 42mm Clubman exhaust. Electronic ignition strobed at 19 degrees BTDC. In line fuel filter too.
Problem started before leaving these shores. Slowing down at roundabout after about 20 miles, down through gears, and she suddenly starts revving her tits off and then dies and stops. Feck it, me thinks, got an air leak and she's wiped the piston or summat. Have a fag, kick her over and she starts again no problem. Meet up with mate and off to Pompey for ferry. Does it again on way, again when slowing down for roundabout. Starts again and no issues rest of way except that when getting to between 47 -50 she starts hesitating like a fuel issue, sorta kangaroo petrol. Stop at Allstyles and buy some petrol pipe. On way down in France and she does the hesitating/kangaroo petrol trick at same speed. If I ease off the throttle, she's fine, but as soon as I get up to 50ish again, same stuttering hesitancy. Nurse her down to French Al's. Next day we take off the in line fuel filter and replace with straight piece of new petrol pipe. Change exhaust clamp for a SLJ jobby. Whip head off, all OK, no leaks anywhere (base, inlet, exhaust) Check timing and retard slightly. Plug colour fine. Runs fine all the time at lower speeds, but does the stuttering/kangaroo petrol thing again at 50ish and all the way back. Must have done @2000 or more miles now around country lanes with no issues, just this thing at 50ish.

Sorry for long winded explanation, but thought best to give full background. Any ideas???

Sounds like it could be either cdi or pick up related if its happening at the same revs? You can check them easily enough by swapping them for known working ones. Best of luck with it.

Sounds like your float height is wrong.
