have a prob with a m8s tx200 , think theres a problem with the flywheel ive just given the engine a total rebuild but when it came to fitting the flywheel it was abit hard to get on an once fitted it was hard to rotate had it on an off a few times to see if it was rubbing which it wasnt but the problem was still there tight to turn so i tightend the nut up still the same tried to start it up engine felt tight once started it seemed to loosen up an the engine was starting up fine for a few days now its getting harder to start sometimes up to 30 kicks so could the flywheel be demagnetized making it hard to start everthing else in an the engine has been replaced bearing , seals , gaskets , coil , ht lead cap, plug pickup, clutch , rings etc any help would be great lads thanks

Take it off again and check that it is properly aligned with the woodruff key....

will have to wait till he brings it back to me , tho saying that ive had it on an off atleast 10 times an everytime it was the same was abit had to fit an once fitted there was like no bounce in the flywheel if you no what i mean from side to side it just feels tight an like somethings rubbing but i couldnt see anything or no marks

gadge, did ye try to turn the engine without the flywheel on! to see if the engine was stiff or free...also sometimes the clutch side barrel stud can screw in to deep and catch or rub on the autolube worm screw cog, it,s worthwhile cutting 1/4'' of that stud.....

engine turns free with flywheel off , plus its none autolube , thanks tho , are tx an px flywheels an stators different

Yes, because the tx run a motoplat ignition system if i remember right and the stators and flywheels are not able to be mixed and matched with italian / indian items and it's nigh on impossible to find another spanish motoplat system, so if that's what you've done that is likely the problem

hi donnie nope i havent changed anything other than the pickup , i was just asking if there was any difference in the two , now thats not to say that someone else mite have , the flywheel looks rite not sure on the stator as im not sure what they look like as i have another stator from a px an the stator looks the same as that one tho i could be wrong ive got nothing to compare it to maybe someone would have a pic of a tx flywheel an stator set up, i do know that there are extra holes in the casing behind the flywheel the stator thats on this one are one the inner holes

TX200 non autolube. and they have different ignition per year of manufacture , or so it seems. done three TX 200 motors, all three had slightly different ignitions, and one had an internal rotor flywheel, (like a DS200, another spanish anomoly) i swapped one motor into an italian frame (with italian DC loom etc) and it worked fine. bartys missus , lou, has a TX200 (malossi 210) i built a few years ago, and thats still going strong (as far as i know) great scooters, just spanish electrics change like the rain in spain. (the DS 200 i did recently is faster than a standard P200E , and better quality bits on the engine)

this tx is a good going old thing i had it out last sunday an it was sitting well over 70 on the speedo, my m8 nought this 8 months ago an its not been without it probs, nut it keeps going back to the one thing starting it up as i said b4 i totaly rebuilt it once i got past the tight flywheel an it was running it seemed ok it was starting for me first , second kick , but a few days of giving it back to my m8 the starting issue rasied it ugly head again an an annoying rattle which made me think that its sumit to do with the flywheel what with the fitting an turning prob i mentioned b4 im at a loss with it now not knowing what is up with it
