is there anywhere online or maybe in any books, a dimensioned drawing of the series 2 frame?

I am starting to look for the various parts to get my winter project off the ground, and having seen the price of the frames on ebay etc, I just cant be paying that out, and so it makes more sense to build my own, far easier than most of the frames I have built in the past for bikes and trikes.

things I need to know are wheelbase so I can start working on adjusting/modifying the frame jig, but any other dimensions would be great.

its going to be bike engined with mainly fibreglass panels, but I want to try and keep the proportions right.

try get hold of fattspeed he can do the front section if you want new but any frame tube 1/2 or 3 are the same dimms

following on from the carbon tool box thread the guy i know does series 1/2 side pannels and mudgaurds but he will do a 1/2 loop if there is enough interest ....

so by my reconing theres at least two after one ...anyone elce ??

ok thanks for the info, Im planning on building this frame a bit different, wont be tube.

I think that I might need to work this the reverse way to my normal builds, and get all my bodywork here, then measure and make the front half etc to actually follow the legshields

i have some frame blueprints with all the dimensions on:lol: on an old hard drive i can post up if you want ??

if you were able to, that would be amazing, Im not too fussy to be honest series 2 or 3, I really want to go series 2 as it looks better wide and low as I fancy going, but the panels are easier to get for the 3.

I dont mind modifying panels etc slightly, but trying to avoid really large changes that will ruin the classic lines, planned frame will be waterjet cut, 2 "sides" with holes through them that are jigged and then have tubing welded across to stiffen it all and fill the holes, sort of fancy I beam construction, replicated in the swingarm design etc, having a contact with a huge waterjet is rather handy

just incase anyone else is interested, it looks like Frank Sanderson will be selling S2 seat loops in fibreglass soon, he emailed me back saying he was waitig for a price and would let me know

this is great news, as I found a guy online that does great looking panels for an excellent price, time to hit the interweb and any autojumbles that might be left, for a set of legshields

id be quite happy with some api series 2 ones as they have a slighly more gp type curve to the top

I have a series 2 api frame here with papers seem straight, all the strut's etc are there, £ 60 and its yours.. im in ireland though , theres always a catch ,, if you have any way of getting it over to you, you can have it for £50 .. always happy to see a new project, ill send you pics if you need them.

what a great offer and deal, but I cant think of an economical way of moving it, and I cant swim that far with it strapped to my back, although Im tempted to try!!

guessing conseratively at size and weight , looks like over £200 to ship it

I have last night started to think about making my own seat loop panel anyway, give me the chance to add in a few touches and all in steel means it can be powdercoated afterwards

luckily round the corner to me is the cobra bodywork company, and they pretty helpful with previous projects if I get stuck, what them guys shape from steel is amazing.
