Just before i order this kit a quick question on the stock intake that needs to be deleted/filled.
I guess there is 2 ways to do this either get it welded up or get a plate made to bolt down, any thoughts on either method or maybe you've done it.?
Cheers lads.

are these the reed on the barrel quattrini? they come with a plate to block the crankcase intake.

I put a plate over mine when I TS1'd my P Range.
Welding/filling would make little difference to crank compression.

Thats the one,no mention of the plate being included on sip's page though, easy enough to knock one up i suppose, cheers for getting back.

Yes , everything other than final dyno set up and fuel pump which was done by Martin at Chiselspeed. The main bits were researching which carb would fit and finding and modifying a suitable air filter plus a bit of welding to strengthen the casing. and increase crankcase compression It's a full rebuild including crank, clutch etc. When i first built this engine to my knowledge it was one of if not the first in the UK so a lot of time was spent on research. It's a PX125E block fitted into a 1963 GL frame. Very rideable with plenty of torque and will wheely in 2nd if you're not gentle on the throttle but like any kit there is more performance available if you want to tune it further. Mine is a fast road use rally going bike and has done a few long distance rallies including Killarney , Ireland - 500mile. Isle Of Wight 400 mile and last week the LCGB Coast 2 Coast 350 miles. The latter rally highlighted a cooling issue with the lightened flywheel but that is now sorted. If I can help in anyway I don't mind passing on my experiences with this kit.
