Are there any issues using a an Li S1 or 2 mag flange with a tuned engine? It's the one with the big circlip and the channel for lubricating the bearing.
Cheers

... Colin, this will mean that the crank on, lets say a ts1, will only get lubbed with premix on the Mag side.. I wouldnt think its a good idea. It does work on a standard engine, althou the best explanation in the history of Lambretta manuals is given on the Lambretta "Servicemans' Book" Third edition on page 45:
"With the earlier machines, the generator side bearing relies on petrol/oil lubrication, but this is only sattisfactory if the special two-stroke oils of the major oil companies are used. Even so the bearing gives a dry appearance and characteristic rattle which are quite normal."
Its British humor at its purest essence. Brilliant

they're Series I, didn't realise they were fitted to Series II too.
Given the availabilty of later mag housings, i wouldn't use one, but have got one here you can have for free if you want to try it.

think chris sturgess has an idea on this
drilled oilway in mag side transfer feed to draw oil fuel through the bearing; it lowers primary compression; with better coolant of magneto bearing with some additional work to the bearing seating to encourage fuel mix to draw through,

Cheers Jarv but I bought one in the parts fair on Saturday, I wondered why it was so cheep, I was so fixated on the condition of the cowling threads, I didn't notice the cut out on the back leading down from the transfer cutaway.byron wrote:they're Series I, didn't realise they were fitted to Series II too.

Would it not be possible to just blank the cutout and fit a GP type bearing without the spacer?
