Anybody an LCGB member that can read the link that 'Warning new generation tubeless' goes to and let us know what it says? I can read the forum but not being a member cant view the link.

It appears that the standard hub studs were not long enough to allow the nut to seat fully home on, certainly not getting to the nyloc element, and this had allowed them to work loose. For this very reason SIP supply longer than standard studs with all of the rims that they send out, which is a pain in the *** to change but at least they are acknowledging the potential issue. It appears as though the rider in question had not been supplied longer studs when buying the rims and had not been given instruction to address the issue. I cannot confirm which dealer supplied the rims so cannot suggest that anyone in particular is at fault but it is an issue that ALL people need to be aware of, especially if they are looking to IMPROVE rider safety

i would assume longer studs mean sip ...but if he did not fit long studs i dont think he would get the nuts on ...so i should perhaps assume these are af type , this may be then an issue with user error

I agree with martin, i bought 3 rims with tyres fitted from him and the all came with a stud kit each and two sets of nuts for each rim.
I have read elsewhere some people weren't checking the nuts were on correctly but martin sends out all the bumf so you cant go wrong, or in my case my man can't.

is would also seem he fitted normal nylocs not the special ones that should come with

If you were to fit the excellent SIP rims to standard studs you would do well to find much thread at all. All the problems I have been told about involve the rims sold in Yorkshire.
