imola cylinder heads

anyone had issues with imola cylinder heads to high compression,,anyone had them reprofiled? cheers steve..

Yes i have , had mine checked and was way out ,had it done and massive improvement

Peter 357 holed a couple of pistons due to head being too high compression.

Beware if it has 'Reaper' engraved on it, bound to have too high a ratio by all accounts.

just holed my second piston,,motor started pinking over the iow weekend,,talked to a few people and most point out imola run to much compression,,

havent got a clue wot version it is,,but its the one with the 4 dowls for the cylinder head,,,

The mark 3 version has seven stud fixing so I guess you have a mark 1 or 2... I never had any problems with mine and it ran for 7 years before dropping a circlip and knackering the barrel, in that time it only had the rings replaced once. Currently in the process of fitting a new mark 3 kit and just hoping it lasts as long!
