hello , wondered if anyone could recomend a company to send my af crank to check if it is twisted and if so can it be rectified , had afew problems coming back from the iow and it has been said the problem could be a twisted crank . symptoms were went to the iow no problem rode around almost never skipped a beat . my trouble started on the way back to newbury . symptoms were , after giving it some welly coming back the scooter just suddenly died , after changing cdi ( varitronic ) it had time to cool and started although compression seemed a bit harder . so off we set on our journey at a steady pace and all was fine.so after a few miles i tried to open it up again but as i increased the rev te scooter started to judder as if no fuel was burning off . managed to get home ok and put the old cdi back on which is ok so assume something else caused this could it be a blown gasket on the head do you think
kind regards
james
sorry forgot to say its a home built af classic rapido 225 with jl3 28mm phbh carb and varitronic ignition

if you reckon its the crank you got to get it out!! and just look for evidence of air leak/ damage/ while you strip the top end down ,,, but check you readings on the stator first and also any signs of rubbing/catching on the flywheel/stator ,, that will indicate the crank has twisted, although varitronics usually drop to bits on their own

just pop into any local motorbike shop surely they will drop it on the balancer for you or send it to me i,ll do it for nowt just the p&p ,, but i cant beleive you,ve no one local
