You may recall my recent mishap on the way to Cleethorpes involving a f***ed piston and
Equally goosed casings, anyway, bought new kit and sourced a new set of casings but now that it's all together I can't get a decent squish.
Before the explosion I had a 1.1mm squish now
With the same head etc I've got 1.9 as the piston crown has 1.4mm negative deck?
This happened to my mate Dave last year. Dan sorted his scoot to go on the H4H Gibralter trip, including setting the squish, he fitted a new piston and buggered it all up as the new piston was .5mm shorter above the gudgeon pin?
Anyway, question is how do I go about getting an acceptable squish now without resorting to major machining? Even if I lap the lip on me head completely flat I'll still have 1.4mm but may raise the compression too much?
How do I get round this?

I would consider that machining might be the only way forward. You will need to check your port timings to decide if you need to machine from the top of the barrel, or the bottom.
It will be worth doing as this will refine the engine build and maximise performance.

You could machine the head and recess it
Turn On, Tune In, Cop out!
