No, but avoid Morrison's cheap fuel, their fuel has a high ethanol content according to reliable sources on here. Not good for our motors.idc1967iow wrote:I am running a muggy 186 ,is it worth running on super unleaded ?.

That's interesting, our Shell garage has recently been taken over by BP. I've used Shell V-Power for years with no problems. Since using basic BP unleaded I've been plagued on all 3 of my Lambrettas (3 different makes of carb!) with the chug-chug-chugging syndrome when starting hot. Something has changed and I'm jumping to a bit of a conclusion here but it could be the petrol.Chutney Brownlove wrote:No, but avoid Morrison's cheap fuel, their fuel has a high ethanol content according to reliable sources on here. My tuned motors are set up on Asda fuel, which seems good. I have had more than one strange incident with BP high octane.
If it's an early Muggy I would get the head checked for comp ratio. Some were supplied with far too high compression. Depending on dealer.
