Got a standard Servetta 125 engine here, only upgrade is electronic ignition
Looking to rebuild it with a kit, but what are people opinions on what kit to use and then sprockets, gearbox, clutch, crank, carb and exhaust options to suit?

Hi there, I am sure this has been all talked through and through, but the first question I would ask to you would be what is your budget for the project. That will lead to different answers. If your budget is low I'd say get an SR185 barrel and get it propperly tuned. If your budget is enough where you can chose, I'd say take a look at the new muggelo kit as they seem to be quite an interesting progression with loads of tuning potential.
Best regards,
Jaime

Budgets and scooters don't really go hand in hand
Decided on an Imola 186 with LI150 box and 15/46
What are peoples opinions on crank and clutch set ups now?

Sorry if I am out of line but I thought you were the welsh scooter parts dealer?
If you are a dealer should you really be asking such basic questions on a public forum?
If I'm wrong in my assumptions I'm sorry

Why not?
I may work in the trade but that doesn't mean I know f@@king everything, theres plenty of developments made in this industry everyday, I can't keep on top of them all, and have never built a smallblock Lambretta motor myself
This forum has 100s of knowledgable posters on it who will know more than me on this subject, so whats the harm in asking peoples opinions who will have already built, run and broke these things?

I don't think Mark expects you to know everything Tom, and he was being sincere in his questioning.
I wouldn't expect someone to know everything, but the basics a dealer should.
I myself would find it worrying to approach a dealer about an engine build on my Lambretta ony to see the questions you've asked.
Again, I'll apologise if this comes over wrong, it's not meant to be, just asking as a Lambretta enthusiast.

If I was paying someone to build an engine for me I would at least expect him to have a lot of knowledge of that engine if not why dont I just get Joe bloggs round the corner to put it together for me and save a fortune in the process.
Sorry if I offended you but by your posts I would assume that you are In This game to make a quick buck on the back of other people's knowledge.
There is no difference in building a small block motor to building a large block one in basic engineering procedures. If I was your customer I would not have any faith in Your ability to do any engine work for me. I just wonder how much you charge to do this service?
If this engine fails due to your lack of knowledge are the posters on here going to get the blame?
This is obviously only my opinion so it ain't worth a s**t tbh

Are you people for real?
I work in the mail order department, we have 2 guys in purchasing and 3 in the post room as well as clare the ex taffspeed mechanic in the workshop.
I'm not an engineer, nor a mechanic, and never professed to being one, I'm only asking for opinions based on peoples experience and can't quite understand why I'm getting s**t for it, I'm not asking anyone to bring an engine to me to build, I'm having one built for myself and thought I'd get some opinions from people who have tried and tested the different options available and mainly to just pass abit of time in the office, sorry I asked.

She is a blinding mechanic and can answer all your questions very easily.
As I said no offence is meant and if the engine is for you ask away but the search button is a lot less traumatic lol
