12v wiring question

Hi folks.
I have a question about wiring up my S3 with a new 12v loom.
At the headset on the new loom i have 3 wires, green, brown, black.
I'm not sure which connections they go in on the bulbholder.
The old loom had a blue and black at the bulbholder and i know that some of the wires need soldering together but i can't remember which!!
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks for reading.

Assuming non battery, no ignition switch:-
Loom black simply connects to the switch black and speedo lamp black.
Loom green simply connects to the cut out green.
Loom brown needs to be connected to the switch brown AND switch purple.
There is no need to solder any wires, just use the bulb holder "triple ganged" sockets for the browns and blacks.

Hi firekdp, thanks for the reply.
Yes non-battery, no ign switch.
Sorry for the dumb ass questions but could you clarify further. the scoot came without a speedo or headlight!! But the bulb holder is there.I have chopped all the wires out so i can see what went where but:
"Loom black simply connects to the switch black and speedo lamp black" - i've got 2 blacks, one for headlight switch and one black for the old loom so i'm not sure where speedo lamp black is.
And:
"Loom brown needs to be connected to the switch brown AND switch purple." Not sure what you mean by this.
Thanks.

The speedo lamp black is attached to a bulbholder that fits into the speedo.

Hi again follks,
Further to my last post i need some help wiring up a 12v kit.
I bought a 12v conversion kit which turns out to be a complete pile of s**t from a dealer who i won't mention and the instructions don't make any sense and he hasn't even photocopied the pages properly so some of the sentences are missing! Cheers for that,
So where should the earths be? (S3 LI 125)
The instructions say the regulator should be earthed to the frame, it didn't come with one-easy to sort but it says i need -
" frame to engine to regulator earth wire" and "12v regulator earth wire to frame"
It says i need both of these but the instructions contradict each other which has left me clueless
Do i need and earth somewhere that fastens to the mag flange?
Any offers please?
Many thanks.

^ ^ ^ As above, use the original earth braid and connect from a flywheel cowl screw, upto the left hand footboard support (old junction/rectifer box position), then onto a regulator fixing. Then a short link from the same fixing to the reg earth terminal.
