Different End Plates? Help!

I am trying to cobble together an engine for "run to the hills' but i am having a spot of bover.
I have just got my hands on an old group 4 engine, from a mate of mine, and i am trying to make one good engine out of my knackered TS1 and that.
Thew problem is that the end plate on the gearbox is quite different. The TS1 has a GP one, like this one on Ebay:
And the ex group 4 one has a bit missing at the back (is it a kick start ramp?), like this one:
The question is: can i just take the entire side casing, complete with kick start etc off my TS1, and just bolt it to the group 4 engine (that never had a kick start) or do i need to buy a new end plate or side casing?
