Hi all I have strange one for you today.

Yesterday while riding my PX210 I changed from 3rd gear to forth gear and the scooter nearly came to a stop!

It felt like I had suddenly stamped on the rear brake and it was hard to get into gear. I had the clutch pulled in and was in the process of changing from 3rd to 4th. Not at high speed just pottering down the road at low revs from cold. It also did it a few hours later when hot.

any ideas?

cheers :?:

Sounds like splitting the engine is on the cards. If you nearly came to a halt, then something is binding on or with your layshaft. I have had the sudden slowing down thing before but not hard to change gear. My problem turned out to be an exploded cush drive, bits of spring, rivet and plates scattered everywhere. Good luck.

thanks for the pointer smiffy1968, I'll drop the oil out this weekend and check for metal particles.
