Up until last year, my old LI has got us everywhere. Mechanically it was sound apart from a snapped layshaft it never let me down.

Then the frame tube that supports the engine snapped.

I stripped it down and a friend did the repairs. I had every intension of getting a new and different spray job, but every single person that knows the LI has told me to leave it as is and not to get it sprayed. I was keen on a new spray job as I wasn't happy about my LI being known as a "Shitter". It doesn't really fill me with joy to hear.

I stripped the engine and even gave the casing a good clean, so I was set to get it sprayed. If I did leave it, it would mean it would on the road sooner.

But, that aside, I would like to hear your opinions....

Leave alone or respray.

Here's a couple of pictures.

Personally, I'd strip it, blast it (or similar) and getting painted all in one colour.

Two tone (IMO) looks a bit asian these days. Especially with the saddles.

It's your bike though. Don't listen to what other people tell you to do to it ;)
How many bikes that other people own do you really like the look of? They're the ones offering opinions.

Fu ck 'em. You're the one that's got to ride it. :)

That's true, but I just wasn't expecting the responses. I honestly thought everyone would say get it resprayed and so that's what I was preparing to do.

On the other hand.. a real man wouldn't strip it down. But would paint it with a six inch brush, in BBQ paint.

Leave it be chap- its cool as f@@k and has character by the bucket load, shiney resprayed scoots tend to be a bit bland for a couple of year until they too become a bit battered and tatty.
