have machined a crownwheel that has 30mm depth and tegether with a foxhat style spider i bought it should be able to fit 5 trad plates or 6 thin plates

the problem i have is the springs are becoming coilbound at approx 16mm which is not allowing me to fit the last cork

solved the issue by cutting one coil of the springs i had, unfortunately the pressure plate then hit the nut on the xmas tree

shame as still had 3mm of depth unused for the pressure plate to sit in , really needs a modified pressure plate as well to work with 5 standard plates, but can see that it is achievable

david, what spider are you using, af,uprated springs are not for use in a FOXHAT spider, use af,gt springs. also your issue with depth, we have a pressure plate to deal with that.
