Having a SIL Flywheel machined to reduce weight does anyone know if you can get a plastic fan to re-place the original if so where from? Thanks.

look for a honda GX160 fan.. imo they are the nearest in size to a lambretta one.. nb whatever fan you get it will need some jiggery-pokery to get it to fit..

not sure if machining the fins off and bolting a plastic fan on reduces weight that much,a sil flywheel can be machined in other areas to a weight of 2kg,what sort of weight are you looking for?less than that?

Thanks for the replys.
The flywheel will be machined in all areas to reduce weight the original SIL fan is riveted on with six rivets, if i can get a nylon fan i will remove these rivets and fit a nylon fan :)

using a plastic fan enables you to machine off even more from the steel part of the flywheel ...1600 grams overall weight is easily attainable and is good for quite revvy motors ...the AF light flywheel weighs in at about only 1446 grams, which some folk find a bit too light .
