gearbox oil can i use

is this any good or can it be used in a lambretta its silkolene boa 80w - 90 high performance hypoid gear oil my local motorbike shop said thats what he uses in lambrettas so yeah or nea lads

Not hypoid,use Silkolene medium or light gear oil.You may be ok with it but think that its not good for the corks.
Im sure ive used a hypoid gear oil years ago and was ok,but if he deals with Silkolene,he can get you the other.

dont get that you said not to use hypoid , then you said to use the medium/ lighter stuff which may damage my corks so why would i use that , then you said that you used hypoid years ago an it was fine, but to get the other stuff why if it may damage me clutch plates anybody else help me out here plz .

i wouldnt use hypoid gear oil cos it may make your clutch slip ,but heres some info for you

use st90 or straight sae90 order st 90 from MB scooters, hypoid oil has additives and can attack the bronze bush in the clutch i ordered 2ltrs from MB around £15 with postage

thanks everyone for your help , a m8 popped in an told me not to use hypoid oil an gave me half a bottle of st90 which to be honest is a bloody nitemare to get here in belfast , i would of orderd some but didnt want to wait on it as im for the 4 nations rally on friday an knowing my luck wouldnt of arrived till then lol anyway thanks again lads

Find a supplier. If I found one in Spain I bet it isnt that hard to get one in Belfast! St90 Rock Oil is the best stuff for your gearbox!!

Sorry,what i meant was that i did use hypoid yrs ago when i worked in the garage trade and had no issues but im sure its not recommended.I just use Silkolene medium or light gearbox oil,whatever is in stock now.
