66 SX 200 with a Sil stator and a AF gp light fly. Bike sputters out at a stop. No spark. Test the stator in the bike according to sticky's book and 3 rd test on green wire shows a fault. Pull the stator install another. Bike starts on first kick, pull the fly, throw a strobe on it and button it up. going down the road everything is peachy and suddenly it starts running rough, then dies. Will momentarily start but won't run. Also replaced the CDI as well as a full tilt going through of the wiring and such. Everything on my bike has been addressed at a high level. Tidy build and such.
I checked my OG stator again out of the bike and pulled a brand new Piaggio trigger (black box) out of my stash and replaced the one which showed faulty. Before installing I check the Piaggio stator that the trigger is on and all tests were textbook perfect. After installing the new black trigger box My stator is still showing faulty on the green wire. Where does this leave me? Am I to replace the LT coil and rewire everything to insure good connectivity?
There was evidence of contact with one of the mag studs but I addressed that.

I'd change the LT coil, I've had them break down under the paper wrapping, tapping mine sent the resistance reading all over the place

I'll try the tapping thing. I was noticing some fluctuations in my reading after replacing the trigger. I have LT coils on the way so I can fix both stators.
