In the process of building a 185 alloy kit with a 42mm Rayspeed clubman.
Was intending to buy a new 26mm or 28mm Dellorto.
Found an old 30mm PHBH Dellorto and was wondering if it would run ok or be a bit too big
and cost a fortune in fuel.
What do you think people...I know nuffink about carbs.

I am sure the 30mm carb would be fine, if you already have it and didn’t want to pay out for a new one.

Personally I would use a smaller carb and use a lot less fuel...

I have a 30mm PHBH carb on my 230 TS1 and its great for my engine

Cheers Lockman, was thinking it was on the big side.
Been looking at carb set ups on various sites, time to bite the bullet
and fork out for a new one. Thinking 26mm, seems to be mid-range option.

I've got a 30 mil on my 185. Set up right, it'll be fine on fuel. Mine uses less on a run than a standard 200 with a small carb on it. About a litre less per 80km.
I ran a TMX35 on a previous 185, and that was ok on fuel too.
