Further to another thread and cranks on RB kits having a lack of lubrication and failing perhaps it's an idea to try and track the 2 stroke oils that are working or not as the case maybe. This may independently help people.
Something like:
The RB kit cc's -
Miles rode -
Failures -
% 3 or 4 -
Any other observations -
TYPE OF OIL -

RB22
1800 miles, 200 miles traveled that day before breakdown, 50 miles since last fuel up.
Big end failure/seizure at an extreme high temperature, travelling at 60 -65 mph, Mikuni 35 tmx, 330 main, 6 slide, 57 needle on top clip ,
4% rockoil synthesis

RB230, Putoline MX5@3%, 4% when running in. 5,000 plus miles, Mikuni 30mm PJ, no trouble with the kit but did twist my crank early on when using a unlightend Indian flywheel, had it re-pinned by Chiselspeed and flywheel lightend, been fine since

.

Thought Id update with my current spec, since may crank seizure on way home from kelso. Crank & barrel replaced by AFs at a reduced price
2000 miles covered since new barrel & piston & rb conrod & bearing added
Mikuni 35 tmx, 290 main, 6 slide, 57 needle on 1 from top clip, 17.5 pilot jet, Cam lam powerjet 3/4 turn out,
4% rockoil synthesis, Franspeed Race exhaust
Timing at 17 degrees
Changed gearing from LI150 to std Indian gp200 loads of fun easy to ride.
Using my MRB cht gauge the engine runs at 150 - 160c at around 65 mph. 170 -190c at 75 to 80 mph, on a recent journey on the motorway held at around 75 - 80 for 6 miles went as high as 200 c but no problems, just leaking gearbox oil through a small crack in the casing,
Egt gauge eats probes so gave up on that.
No overheating problems any more yippeeee!

Where's the leak from?
My casing cracked too, where one of the bottom cylinder studs was.

If you look on the net ~
There are k type thermocouples used on turbos ~ you won"t burn these out ~ Or I havn"t Yet
