Cylinder, crank, packer question

If running a standard height cylinder (from base gasket face to head gasket face 101mm(?)) and running a 60mm crank, one should add a 1mm packer, correct?

Now, if running a 60mm crank and a Mugello ultimate with the increased cylinder height to 103mm, I count an extra mm?

Keep it simple please, I just had a wisdom tooth out, now it's a dry socket (exposed bone) and I'm in a world of f@@king hurt, I'm swallowing pain killers like they're f@@king tic-tac's :flaming:

Sorry I can't answer your question, but you've got my full sympathy for the pain your in. I understand Wisdom teeth are something else, but I had tooth ache some years ago that came as quick as a smack and felt like a smack in the face with a hammer.

Yes, they do have a recessed head.

Aaah, so the extra mm is to allow for the head to sit in the bore, which kind-of-in-a-way returns things to 'standard' configuration..

So if one were to fit a standard type head, 1mm would be need to be removed off the deck..

When working this kind of stuff out take the deck height of the piston at TDC as in effect being the top of the cylinder. So if it sticks out a mm your port heights are to the top of the cylinder + 1mm. If its 1mm below the top of the cylinder your port heights are to the top of the cylinder -1mm.

Dry socket-not many things send you out of your mind like that. Get your doctor or dentist to prescribe you tramadol. You have my sympathy mate
