the reason i ask is because if it has 3thou clearance it will need 1000 or more miles, 3.5 thou prob 5-600 miles and 4 thou about 1-200 miles in my experience

Did it come from Rayspeed? I'd give it a careful check. It could be a variable clearance.

get it checked ,i had 2 last year that dropped a ring down the exhaust port within 25 miles of new :shock: :o

My barrel had 3 thou from them once.........either side :o

Amateur.. I had one with one thou' clearance at the bottom. And ten thou' at the top. :)

I think the secret to a well behaved Rapido ( after clearances are proved ok )is a religious (boring) running in regime, I ran my second ( first one also snagged a ring in the exhaust port at tick over) in for a 250 miles around town at 30mph 250 miles at 45 mph and the remainder at 50 mph.

I bought a gamin forerunner gps which kept me to the speeds exactly and kept a track on the mileage.
