I'm thinking of going carbon on the lammy, how easy is it to paint compared to metal.
I'd like to leave some of the carbon to show, sort of two tone if you know what I mean.
Any tips greatly recieved.

as the carbon body work currently available is wet lay up the same as fibre glass it will be the same as for painting ,i know some have had problems with pin holing in clear coat so the parts you want carbon perhaps should be clear coated first and flatted back as required before a colour coat as it is better to cure this first

I had mixed fun doing mine. Like ric said panels using fibre glass polyester resin will be just fine to paint/clearcoat. But parts made using epoxy resin are a real pain to paint/clearcoat. Epoxy seams to sink into the tiny holes in the weave of the cloth and create pockets. Something in 2pack paint/clearcoat does'nt like this. But for some reason single pack clearcoat is fine.
This was the first clearcoat layer, but after a rub down and light layers it stayed burried.
