Refitting a OMG fuel tap

I'm refitting a brand new OMG fuel tap to my SX, but I cant seem to get it to sit right.
Every time I fit it I end up having the lever getting stuck and it wont allow me to open the choke, everything tightens up.
Red the sticky manual but it does not have a great deal of detail on this subject.
Any tips?
TIA - Barry

I'm a bit confused Barry.
Not sure where the choke comes into this issue. What do you mean by the lever?

Is the split pin catching on the back of the carb?, i fitted a fast flow job on my gp and had to fit new tank rubbers to give a bit more clearance, a photo might help mate...

careful of those OMG taps..
if it isnt a fast flow, then the rate at which it allows petrol out can be pitifully slow
best bet is a rear exit one from camlam....

Embarrassed - Not the choke the petrol lever, newby error.
Question - Is the fuel "lever" supposed to be able to be pulled in & out "like a choke"?
This is the main source of my issue, when i tighten the tap to the fuel tank it will not move in & out but I am still able to turn the tap to off, on & reserve.

I detest those OMG taps. I must say that the ROFL taps rule! :freak:

Barry. Fit the tap to the tank with the lever shaft broadly parrallel to the frame tube. Ensure the tap will turn freely. If you think this leaves to much shaft protuding through the frame loop. You will have to consider shortening the lever.

.......or move the tank round slightly by loosening the tank straps

Thanks everyone, now that my moment of newby stupidity has passed I can now fix this without any hassles. What confused me was the one I took out (viet copy) moved around quite a lot, so I naturally thought it had to!
All fixed now.
