50 special help needed

i'm building a 50 special for a mate and need a new headlight for it,
the headset looks like a normal 50 special but its got a 3 speed gear change'
I need a headlight that has a normal dual filament headlight bulb,
we got one from SIP but although listed to fit it was physically too big
the one that is fitted in it is a single filament so no good for m.o.t as its not a 50 anymore
any ideas what we need and where too get it would be greatly appreciated?

3 speed? so its definitely NOT a 50 special engine then?
They had a 4 speed box.
90 engine?
Dual filament lamp is simply a case of changing the lamp (bulb), unless the wiring/switch are odd?
My UK import 50 Special had a dual filament lamp as standard and a 4 speed box: is yours a)definitely a 50 special? b)got a 50s gearbox? c)a UK import?

the engine is long gone, i think the headset is from an import hence the 3speed gearchange, SIP list 4 headlights for the 50 special and only one has high low beam bulb holder which is for a electric start version which has the mountings in a different position, unfortunately the bulb holders aren't interchangable between single and dual filament, not worried about wiring cos we'll just make a loom to suit.

ah bugger.
Well the 3 speed won't really matter then as the numbers won't align with the gear anyway, the bulbholders a problem though.
Could we see some pictures? Perhaps theres a way forward if anyone knows of an alternative?

hopefully sussed it, got uk spec jobby comin which should have low and high beam on it.
