Is this engine casing easily repairable?

It's a well abused early S3 Li150 casing. It's of no particular value other than I have the matching endplate.

All threads are good except the barrel studs. One is good, 2 I'd score at 7/10, and one requires the attentions of a good alloy welder and a machine shop at least.

The only other issue is the hole in the casing for the rear brake which is oval ( a common problem on old casings).

Is it repairable and, if it is, is it worth it for the cost?

Oh, it may be needed to form the basis of an Imola too

Could maybe get it repaired as part of converting it to 200 spacing - that would make it economic.

Good idea. I presume that is possible on an Italian casing, it just needs a bit more welding than a Spanish one ??

I know people that have had it done, unfortunately that would be the sort of thing that I would have got Taffspeed to do, not sure of who I'd get to do it now but I'm sure someone will be along with some advice.

Yes it can be done pretty easy ,but casings need blasting first

Cheers for the replies. Yeah, I appreciate that the casing would have to be squeaky clean before welding.

I've spoken to MB and they've quoted me £100 (presume plus VAT) for a 200 stud spacing which given the cost of an Indian 200 block is worth considering.
