any one know if i can fit a differant piston i,e honda yamaha to rapido needs to be 71mm as barrel siezed and needs rebore

yes you can fit different pistons but it all depends on your crank / conrod.

dont know what crank it is but rod is standard gp 108 if that helps

Nothing wrong with your question Twinny, e_9111 is Spanish and his english is a little limited. Parker is a charater who posts mostly on the LCGB but despite being British is almost as hard to follow......very entertaining though ;)

I don't know much about crank and piston combinations but from what I've read, most Jap pistons have a different size gudgeon pin and require a Jap con rod with a corresponding small end. Also, some Jap pistons have the gudgeon pin closer to or further away from the top of the piston which then requires a different length of rod. Then you get into the position of the ring pegs which can foul the exhaust port and require the ring pegs to be moved. All a lot of hasle for not very much saving imho. Your rod will be 107mm if it's a standard 58mm crank BTW ;) Hopefully someone with more definate knowledge will chip in and correct any errors in the above 8-)

mb do 71mm pistons there about £140. Lambretta restore also do 71mm there about £65 ive got one on my 240
