Rode a scooter that i was informed after i had ridden it had 30 bhp

thought it was nice to ride with a typical tuned power curve with a trough in the midrange

also carried a gps with me as a reality check (not high due to short gearing)

not disputing the bhp figure stated at all, but quite surprised how docile it was,

what bhp does a scooter need to be become 250 elsie mad

I doubt there's any figure really, it comes down mainly to the whole package.

Say Terrance Turner builds one having thought everything through and whilst maybe peaky the delivary is fluid at your 30 bhp.

Then say Henry Hammer builds one looking at one or 2 parts of the formula and records the same peak figure but it's balls and pretty much unrideable.

Is this making sense?

you will never find what you are looking for mr blythe, those that think they have are fortunate to have blind fath in something that isnt quite as it seems.

Juan is right. Its the whole package. Its ok having 30bhp for pub talk. How the torque curve is, how wide, how strong is what dictates how the motor will feel.

You cant compare apples and oranges.....they're two different fruits my friend.

....and just to finish this one off with the usual throw-away, but it was reported to me that a scooter was claimed to have 33bhp on so-and-so's dyno, but only made 24 on another.

So what does a 30bhp engine feel like? One could argue that a 30bhp engine feels like one that makes 22bhp.
