sorry for not explaining properly...the carb is a spaco 26. the main jet was made up of top 120, middle be4 and bottom 120, which was changed to top 160 middle be4 and bottom 112 . I dont know the exact names of each part so I just called it the top carb jet meaning the top piece.

okay, main jet stack, you,ve got 160/air corrector be4/mixer 112/main jet, a standard t5 carb is 24mm with a 120/air corrector be4mixer 110/main jet, the 26mm does,nt really matter(there,s no real gains to be had with a 26mm and the jetting does,nt really alter any)...but you,ve leaned out the air corrector to the max and also leaned the main jet, it was probably just your main jet that was to rich, i,d put the 120 air corrector back on and 120 main and plug chop scoot and just come down on the main jet....

ok ive put it back to 120,be4 and 120 and will try it for a while, its does seem less smokey (blue).
The main reason for changing the jets was I had to turn out the mixture screw about 3.5 full turns to stop the scoot from faultering on acceleration but this made the plug very black and sooty. I go on a 15 mile run to work so will check the plug colour when I get there....thanks for help so far

thanks gaz for pm ,120 main still too rich ive settled on 120, be4, 112 main 2 turns out with adjuster and it seems pretty good. I will try this set up for a bit and see how it goes. The reason for 26mm carb was the original 24mm was knackered and turners scooters shop only had a 26mm and I wanted to get on the road asap. By the way the ex is sito plus. thanks for all the imput chaps no doubt "ill be back" with something else.............
