should maybe have put this in dealer innovations as well, but as it,s fitted to me vespa here will do! anyway had a nology hotwire(sold by sip & in america)fitted and used for the last 6 week or so, was first put on to it by shineyred tuning, Mmmmm! another tackle fanny part, but it does actually work! more torque(pull)very noticable, helps on retarded timing, a better burn of fuel, what i,ve noticed less oil lube down the back of engine casing from carb box and cleaner end can...
hotwire screws on to cdi as normal, hotwire earth strap goes on head cowl bolt, these hotwires do give a noticable difference, yes there not fookin cheap but can be sourced cheaper...
PS...Dan, do ye want to do a back to back dyno run hotwire v,s standard ht, in the name of scootering...(there is a difference)
sold by & price...

Seems to be a mixe opinion on the SIP reviews. It'd be interesting to see if this does make a noticable difference. Either way, I would imagine a larger spark would give a cleaner burning engine.

i've run one for few years now. I was originally attracted to the price, as cheap upgrades go, it's pretty good. I found that the ignition seems much more consistent and pick up seems improved also. At idle I can turn the screw right out and it just idles. Pop...pop... Pop. No stuttering, no mis-fire. Seat of the pants sez it's more responsive and each stroke packs a bigger punch.

There was a thread on here a while back about something similar
http://scooterotica.org/forum/viewtopic ... +magnifier
I made one and fitted it and I'm convinced it's made a difference, much smoother pick up all the way through the revs.
A damn sight cheaper than the hotwire.

Oh up yer bum Joe!
Sorry mate, been putting it through a thorough trial period.
I'll find the little diagram that I did and possibly bang a few together, the only problem I've got is that I got all the gear from maplins and it cost a bit, still only worked out at about £10 all in (electronic bits, glue sticks for insulation etc,) but you can get some of the bits cheaper elsewhere apparently????
Like I said, I am honestly convinced it gives a bit low down, and there is a perceptible loss when you disconnect it......... I thought Dan and Sean were gong to test one a while back?
