He's got his T5 engine running and says it goes fine, but for a noise when the clutch is engaged/disengaged

I took a video when I called round.

I'd love to help out my mate as he's helped me with plenty in the past, he deserves it too.

His clutch is fecked , guessing it's a cosa item? On my old 210 it had the same noise, it was worn out , can't remember where exactly but defo take out and investigate.

could just be the flywheel side bearing m8 is shot had a few like that an done one not so long ago

forgot to ask does the flywheel move in an out more tha normal when pulling the clutch in

a lot of cosa clutches sound like that , even new ones. the one ive got on my malossi sounds like that when its pulled in at tickover, and thats only 800 miles old, and a strenghtened one at that. as long as its tight on the crank, and he says it rides fine, i wouldnt worry about it.

Let us know how you get on , as i've got a t5 172 in for repair ( stator) and does not sound owt like that !!!

There's no movement in the flywheel

It's not a Cosa clutch just an ordinary one, but only new plates. He says no slip or drag and runs ok, but he's got a new clutch he can put in. I'd suggested he tried it to see if it made any difference.

Not got sound on the PC at the moment but is it a rattling sound? If so it could be the cush drive on its way out / f@@ked.

No Cush drive on his.

Spoke to him tonight and he's getting the clutch this week I think.

no cush drive ?
