rusty tank remedy

just thought i'd pass on some info, i helped a mate pick up a honda mtx trials bike, don't ask, but i looked over it, it was clean apart from a really rusty inside tank,(been standing in a garage for years) anyway after a bit of research we tried to clean the 9l tank up a bit, we tried as a wild card to throw 8l of white vinegar and a container of salt in, after 5 days and a rattle with gravel in, all the rust just fell off and left clean metal, 5 quid job done,

salt 'n' vinegar eh!.. top tip

tried it with cheese 'n' onion once.. never again.. :D
