Just fitted a new rear brake cable and it seems to long, as in it fits in the bracket that holds it next to the cable adjusters but then it bends and runs on touching the inlet manifold before curving back to the top hat for the brake lever end, put simply it doesnt run in a straight line.

Question is can i shorten the outer to get it to run straight.

Cable came from Scooter Restorations and is a friction free one

 ...the outer should have a bit of a loop to it to allow for suspension movement....or you might find the back brake snatchin on over bumps, round corners! and cutting its way through the engine case and head cowling.....
