ok posted a couple of questions before but i have completely rebuilt my GP over the winter months with all new bearings seals, crank, 30mm carb, franspeed exhaust, etc so on Sunday pushed her outside for the first time expecting some problems but suprisingly started 3 or 4th kick, so went out for a couple of miles and apart from tick over seems ok, tried again on Monday and again taking it easy only a few miles but again everything seems ok.
So the question is what do I do next the timing was only set static so do I need to check with a strobe also any tips on what I should now look out for or is it just take it easy and put the miles on. I know I need to check the cylinder head bolts after 50 miles to make sure they are ok.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Imola rebuild so far so good
def check timing with a gun, mos of the bikes i have done i start with stator turned fully clockwise, i would recommend 17 degrees to start with
- you might want to check your forks don't need a quick tighten
- give as many nuts and bolts esp hubs / rims etc a look over ... paint / powdercoat settles out and causes these to work loose.
- enjoy
