Hey, basically I have removed the old engine unsure if (125 or 150) from my 1963 scoot and not sure whether to rebuild it or bin it and buy a brand new LML 150?
Is it a straight forward swap? Is it worth bothering with the old engine as I have heard they are really slow? Please help! lol

Cheers

Jamie

what model is it? a VNA /VNB ? the bodywork looks good, the side panels and legshields look great .as for the engine, if its an old , worn out 2-port 125/150, it would probably be wiser to invest in a newer PX 3 port motor, which can still be picked up relativley cheap, giving scope for a kit or more in future. you will also need to uprate the front end to ten inch wheels, of which their are a couple of options.

hi, thanks for your reply.
I am unsure what model, led to believe its motovespa spanish model. Yes the engine is an old worn out 2port.
Is this the sort of engine I need to keep my eye out for:

Also how would i begin to convert to 10" wheels?
thanks again

I think that all you need to do is change the front forks but I'm sure an expert will be along soon. Loads of people do it so it can't be that hard.

Remember that a modern engine will need a new wiring loom too but since you have the thing completely stripped it shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks for that, seen a few places sell the loom already.

will ship to Spain at a reasonable price too..
Sound silly but he asked me do I want 2 stroke or 4 stroke? I am sure 2stroke but just want to make sure...
this looks handy too
