try a smaller pilot jet and spend time on the mixture screw to get it running clean off the bottom
? what ignition and timing you running?

scooterrestorations ignition set at 19BTDC

think i mixed up the pilot and starter jet in previous post , should be 60 starter and 40 pilot

did some work on the mixture screw still too rich on thick over and on first part of the throttle
could it be the needle ? not familiar with these carbs .

no probs with lack of advance then at 19 degrees
im not too familiar with the carb either
have u tried back to back on mix screw at 1/4 out against 3.5 out with tickover reset accordingly whats it like best as that gives an indicator of what to do with pilot size,i think its an air mix screw so if it likes 3.5 try a smaller pilot
is the rapido std or tuned as long inlet timing will be difficult to set up
