Asked the same question on another well known web site and still not sure.
Treated myself to a BGM rear shock and I cant make my mind up which way up it should go, this might sound a bit daft but there are schools of thought that make sense either way. The picture below shows the way up I have it fitted currently, this is also the way suggested by the majority of the people who replied to my original question and the writing on the shock is the right way up when fitted this way.
However a mate of mine has one of these and is adamant it goes the other way up.
I just need to be clear in my mind which way it should go. Any ideas ??

If you look at my post in "Show us yer scoots" you'll see it fitted, just looks wrong to me, God I'm confused

knowing i bit about shocks but not this type if the rebound and compression are equal then it makes no differance , even if it the can be adjusted again as long there equal no differance , the preload adjuster makes no differance as that affect the spring , but the knob near the bottom eyelet in your pic is the rebound/compression adjuster if this makes the adjustments to the reb/comp equal IE the same amount to each then again it makes no differance , can you tell me if this shock can have say a soft compression and hard rebound or hard compression and soft rebound , as long as you adjust the correct dial there wont be a problem ,the problem comes when for example the yamaha R1 shock has 2 dials one for preload and one for compression on a yamaha bike the shock is fitted with the resiviour at the top and this is shown in the hand book as how to adjust , on most scooters there fitted at the bottom you just have to switch things around on a lammie

If the compression & rebound are equal and it makes no difference...them from a purely aesthetic point of view I'd put it on the other way up.

It just looks upside down (to me)

I have one of these as well and it says somewhere on the Scooter Center website that it is VERY important that it is fitted the right way. And thats the way you have it fitted , with the writing the right way up. Tell your mate hes clueless

Thats the answer I was looking for, many thanks for everyones input. I can now thrash the a*se of it without worrying (well no more than normal eh !)

I think that you have in the good position.
I am sure that the people of BGM want their logo in the right side

The eye to eye length of the unit is approximatly 295mm, exactly between Series 1/2 and Series 3 length.
im not sure were they get that info from all the s2 shocks ive measured are 315 mm approx an 305mm for the s3

Still running in and haven't fitted mine yet.

Do I need any special washers fot it to fit?

or does it fit straight?
