i know it came out of a old lambretta sprinter that had an alloy frame and red full fairing & was bought from leicester area bout 6 years ago. this bike was in a feature in scootering with thw bloke who built it standing up and carrying scooter in front of him at waist height. the frame has long gone but the engine exists and we think its a honda205 but not really sure :o
does anyone know what the back rim is of as its an aluminium one and its very well made with no obvious signs of welding ?
anyone got a scan of the article i wonder ;)

Didnt broady do something like this years ago? the engine had to be offset to keep the wheels on the centre line.
Some very nice parts on that engine :)
like the exhaust but its the crankcase induction that looks more interesting ..lol

no that was of a suzuki love this is alloy
Ian Hepworth

I remember the article, mid 90s (95-96 ish). I saw the scooter a few times at custom shows.
It had ferrari stickers logos if I remember rightly.

I also seem to remember it being for sale in scootering about 5 years ago for peanuts, like £500 or so.

If I remember right the rim was made from billet, the bloke was an aerospace engineer or something.

I think ChiselSpeed had some wide alloy rims especially made years ago.
Trev Harrison had one on his ChiselSpeed Demon Sprinter. This might be one of them. There was an article in Scootering about the sprinter which mentions the rear wheel (5 inch wide), he was hoping to put a mini tyre on it but had problems, he also had to mess with the engine mounts to keep the wheel centred.
standing mile: 118.6mph
1/4 mile: 14.04 seconds - 93mph
