If you were going to replace a stator whats the opinion on the BGM stator versus a rewired Indian one. I know initially there were mixed reviews and a couple of quality control problems with the BGM's have these now been sorted?

Seems to be mixed reviews fella on this one...some members have had no breakdowns on 1000s of miles yet some have had quick failures so like I say mixed reviews...why not get your old stator revamped and rewired with good gear by a rep person..???

What's wrong with the one you've got? Is it from the cheese factory?

No, not from the cheese factory. I have got an old indian one I could get rewired, I was just curious about the BGM stators whether they were as good as all the hype.Muttley McLadd wrote:What's wrong with the one you've got? Is it from the cheese factory?

I've just sent you a pic of mine to your work email address. Flywheel is still off.
Looks nice.. but still got a hole in case you want to put a condensor in. Which is a bit odd..
Lights seem a tad better than before, but will be able to tell better come winter.
Once you've paid for postage on coils/pickup/etc. you might as well get a BGM one. Mine came from Beedslow with my flywheel

I bought a new Bgm stator from Andy Francis which was faulty out of the box, I posted a post on here asking how to test the stator just to be sure it was faulty, Scooter Centre Koln PM'ed me and asked me to return the faulty stator direct to them and was supplied a new improved batch bgm 120w stator asap, which I am told was improved and checked by MB before I received it. my wife has since done a couple of thousand miles on this with no problems with lights that Lambretta riders could only dream of before!! since then I have also fitted a 120 stator and Mb lightened flywheel to my own GP junking the Variotronic due to poor lights and am very impressed with the bgm stator and the back up from Koln and Mb.

Then again I don't think I've ever had a problem with those stators supplied by Scooter Restorations. I'm not convinced the BGM ones are significantly better in my experience.
