painting advice

Hi just getting ready to paint my first lambretta
does anyone know which thinners i need to use and what the difference is between anti-bloom and high gloss planning to do 4 coats 50/50 paint and thinners then 2 coats 70/30

for the top coat you need the better quality thinners but the cheaper is ok for primer and cleaning out gus etc

cant advise on ratio as is a good 12 years since i did any spaying myself and i cant remember

its more a question for sean but i'd go with high gloss and make sure the spray area is warm and dry as its the cold and damp that causes blooming

blooming is caused by moisture in the air and also moisture in the compressor together with too cold conditions.
best to make sure the painting is done in the right conditions to start with ...id say at 20 degrees C minimum .
always frequently drain the water out of the bottom of the compressor tank ,and use an inline water trap.

A trick a painter friend of mine uses is to put a few marbles in the bottom of the paint gun. You get more out of it then.

I think it's the fact that the marbles displace the volume of paint that would otherwise be left in the bottom.
