What sort of mileage would you expect to get out of a set of piston rings in a standard SX150?
Thanks in anticipation :wtf:

standard as in an air filter fitted and running, say semi synth at 3%.
I recon anything between 5 and 10,000 miles at a push

yep- I'll still go with 5k minimum. If it then needed new rings, I'd probably go for a rebore and new piston rather than faff around with just rings

...keep going until you loose compression...decoke at around 5000m and check ring gaps.....modern oils should keep the carbon clear for longer though...nice loose barrels let the engine rev freely....
if in doubt bin it and fit a mugello....

You should be fine for at least 10k. Ive probably done that on a standard piston with open mouth carb on a revier motor so no worries.

20k plus no worries. Even a tuned mugello (rock hard nicasil bore) will do 10/12k set up correctly with 3% synth and an air filter.
