The bracket which keeps the brake cable away from the tyre on a reverse pull disc?

I think Andy Francis showed me some beautiful CNC machined ali items for this task, but I would thread a petrol pipe over the cable to protect it from the front tyre. A thick, short cable is the key to getting the reverse pull to work well, and the petrol pipe helps by beefing up the strength of the cable.

I made mine out of some stainless that was donated by a shopping cart :ninja:
And, further to what Knowledge was saying about length of cable/stiffness etc. I have mine set up on a drum brake. I had it set up with a normal cable and it was usable, but a bit hairy. Then , I changed the normal scoot cable for a much sturdier, nearly solid steel cable outer with a plastic liner for the inner, sort of like a choke cable from older days. Now the brake is absolutely unuseable and locks the front end up just breathing on it. . Next, I'll have to drag out the disc brake and hook it up to that. That thicker, stronger, less flexible cable completely changed the characteristics of the front brake. Also, now, with the keep away bracket and the sturdier cable, there is no way to even make the cable rub on the tire.

Yep, coat hangers, seen a couple done with them.. Supertune use to sell them for 20 pound. Makes you want to start bending coathangers
