yeah. but on very early 200 motors with the bolted plates for the main bearing, make sure the tab washers arnt protruding above the bolt heads, and you may have to use a thinner washer , or modify the spacer washer under the clutch (thats the washer used instead of the drive cog on later autolube models)SIP do a thinner washer for this. stops clutch drag. small things to look for, but makes the clutch action a lot easier.

I don't consider the cosa clutch to be an upgrade over the original clutch. Its much weaker and prone to problems

I agree Al, but it does add a liitle more comfort for everyday moderate riding on a standard scoot!!!especially in town.

Sorry to hi-jack but whilst on the subject Al i was gettin a bit of clutch slip on my old style std 3 plate clutch running a polini 207 so got malossi springs put them in ( i knew from previous experiences they'd be too heavy, so out with them and put in DRT ones from beedspeed and they lurched the clutch as it was let fully out, so back to std ones and driving easier
I was told a while ago that the solution is use 3 malossi springs and 4 std have you tried this???????? or whats the solution.
thanx in advance!!

I have heard of mixing the malossi springs but tried it once and couldn't get it to work properly.
I've used the DR type springs many times with no problems so not sure why yours has them.

Well all I can say is that in my Polini which has seen some pretty heavey abuse over the years i use the old style 7 spring clutch with dr springs and surflex plates.
This has survived coast to coast ,cobblesoul with racing in between and been a daily driver and general dyno donkey so Its worked for me fine.

Al what head are you using and who did it?

Used a Malossi and a PM (for Malossi,) head and both pink like a pink thing. I've only used them as they were lying around once my Malossi snapped the exhaust stub.
The PM has lower compression than the proper Malossi head but the squish is all wrong due to the Malossi piston having a flatter crown profile than the Polini.
I have squished it and got 1.2mm at the piston edge but it goes down to 0.9mm at the inner edge of the band so it's obviously not working as it should. Instead of pushing the gas into the combustion bowl it's obviously trapping it at the edge.
Who does the best head for a Polini??
Nemo saltat sorbius, nisi infanus est.
