Can anyone tell me the correct bolts required for fitting an electronic ignition bracket :?:

One of the bolts sheared when dismantling and I need to replace,
the 2 holes on the regulater side are bigger then the 2 on the CDI side.

I can measure the length from the existing bolt, its the size I'm after i.e M4 or M3 :?:

cheers

Measure the hex head across flats (A/F) size:

M5 = 8mm;
M4 = 7mm.

Can't you measure the screw dia. with a steel rule or better with a vernier guage? Failing that, why not contact your bracket supplier. ... Or, worst case, buy M3 and M4 screws and see which fit, they're not expensive.

How silly of me; :? you said bolt = hex head.

Slotted/Pozi-driv head and hex head threaded up to underside of the head = screw.

Thanks for the advice, am going to loan a vernier guage from work and measure tonight. Didnt know it was as easy

the HT coil locating bolts on a ITALIAN scooter are M4X80MM AND AS YOU HAVE REPLACED THIS i suspect this is the size you require, i normally use 8.8 tensile bolt here and not the cross head or posi drive type that are normally supplied and a nyloc on the back( if the regulator side is a bare hole and not a captive nut) the reason is there less likely to come undone because you can tighten them properly or you wont "chew" the head of the screw up with your undersized screwdriver bits :lol:
