Imola throttle cable

Hi Guys its my first post on here and already a question.
Im doing a nut and bolt resto on a Indian GP with a Imola engine (italian)
and was wondering what the best way to feed the throttle cable would be?
The normal way with a longer cable or directly from the headset to the carb on the same side.
Any advice appreciated.

If its big carb run it stright down thought the tube for the gear and clutch cables.
