Gugdeon Pin to Piston Shims

I have an Indian GP200 stage 4 engine fitted with a Mazuchelli GP crank. I believe that these cranks are usually fitted with shims on the pin between the small end and piston and there appears to be sufficient space to do this ( I have the shims, Spanish NOS). None were fitted by the builder, should I now fit these or not? I also believe that these help to keep the con rod running true. There are shims on the big end/main bearing.

Anyone have an opinion or is more info needed?

I think the general rule is if you have shims (thrust washers) at the big end then no need to shim the little end

I'd go with that, in fact if there are thrust washers on the big end, don't fit anything on the pin.
